Some foods give your muscles the raw materials to grow – others will just give you a pot belly no matter how skinny you are – or just turn you in to a bloater.
Sure, we all like the stuff we’re not supposed to eat – but if you want a build body mass, steer clear of these like the plague:
Chocolate, cookies, crisps, pastry, sweets, biscuits.
Fizzy drinks, canned drinks.
Fruit juices (too high in sugar).
Fried or fatty foods like burgers, chips, hotdogs, pizzas.
High fat milk, cheese or yoghurt.
Sugar. It’s evil. Stay away from it in all forms.
And these one more. Alcohol.
Okay, so who doesn’t enjoy a beer? But:
Alcohol makes your testosterone levels plummet – and testosterone is the big guy of muscle growth. You really need it to gain muscle mass.
But not only does it decrease your testosterone, it promotes estrogen, which is the female hormone. Not good for bodybuilding.
