One thing that strikes me as universal in anyone’s quest in going from skinny to muscle, is there’s no one thing that gets you bulked up and ripped – it’s a number of small things working together.
Me hitting the gym for eight months and getting nowhere proved that.
Hitting the gym for four weeks whilst changing my diet, quaffing protein shakes after working out, and being protective about my recovery days made a massive difference.
(Okay – so I’m only 4 weeks in to the plan – sure, I’m not bulked and big yet, but I’m not the ‘skinny fat guy’ I was four weeks ago either. Skinny and fat? No arms, no shoulders…big gut.)
But you can take it even further. There’s a million and one snippets of information that you can use in your favour to go from skinny to muscle.
Your diet is just as important as your weight lifting – but look what happens when you add a few spices:
Garlic – did you know garlic naturally increases testosterone production and blunts cortisol production? Testosterone is the bad boy of muscle building – the more you have, the more bulked you’ll get.
Ginger – Increase your fat burning capacity by raising your metabolism
Cinnamon – Does the same as ginger, burns more fat by speeding up your metabolism, but it also reduces your appetitie too.
The same goes for loads of other stuff: form, hypertrophy, supplements, when to eat… the list is endless – but they all help in gaining muscle fast.
