Here’s a blinding glimpse of the obvious, but one I overlooked.
We’ve all got a weak spot. For me, it’s my hamstrings. I hate those leg curls with a passion.
But here’s the thing. When’s the best time to do ‘em?
I used to do them on Friday in my routine, which is really dumb. I do them on Mondays now, and they’re the first exercise I do too.
Part of the reason I hate doing them is my hamstrings are so weak. I’m in serious need of muscle growth there. But there’s only way to strengthen those muscles – attack them hard.
You don’t have to be Einstein to know you’re going to be able to do the most reps when you’re fresh from your recovery – giving you the most energy to ‘stimulate’ the muscle.
Simple point, I know, but growing your muscles as quickly as possible is all about using as many shortcuts as you can. I think this is a great one – no matter how much I hate doing leg curls.
The more I re-read the plan I’m doing, the more I see stuff like this, that I missed first time round…
